Distinguished Professor Larissa Hjorth

Distinguished Professor Larissa Hjorth is a digital ethnographer and socially engaged artist in the School of Media & Communication at RMIT University. She is an Australian Research Council (ARC) Future Fellow exploring mobile media mourning.

Dr Katrin Gerber

Dr Katrin Gerber is an innovative mixed-methods researcher with a PhD in Psychology, specialising in end-of-life, grief, and digital legacy. She uses creative and participatory methods to make taboo topics accessible and engages critically with emerging technologies, including AI, to explore their social, cultural, and ethical impacts on death and mourning.

Dr Tamara Borovica

Dr. Tamara Borovica is a Vice Chancellor's Postdoctoral Fellow and creative artist at RMIT University’s Social Equity Research Centre. Her work focuses on the sociology of emotion and health, particularly in the context of trauma and resilience. Using participatory and arts-based methods, she explores how emotions and lived experiences, including the collective ones, shape mental health.

Dr Leanne Downing

Dr Leanne Downing is a Research Fellow in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University. Using a range of qualitative research methods, Leanne's work focuses on the intersection of digital media, grief and spirituality.

Shahee Ilyas

Shahee Ilyas is a transdisciplinary designer and RMIT PhD candidate, examining how data visualisation on mobile media can address ecological grief and drive social change.

Himani Joshi

Himani Joshi is an RMIT PhD candidate, exploring the interconnectedness of grief in the broader milieu of influencers and social media cultural discourses, particularly on TikTok.
